- What is the commitment required of players in the Coastal Athletic program?
Players for Coastal Athletics will commit to practice twice a week. In addition, players will commit to six weekend tournaments.
- How much will Coastal Athletics cost us?
There is no tryout fee this year, but if your child makes the team, you are responsible for signing her up with the National AAU database, a fee of $25. We will give you directions for this. The cost of being part of the team for the 2011 season is $600. This includes:
- Practice Gym Time.
- Stipends for coaches.
- 6 Tournament Fees.
- Where is Coastal Athletics based?
Coastal Athletics is based on the South Shore. We practice at Norwell High School. In addition, our tournaments are all within driving distance. Most tournaments have been in Massachusetts but we have been to tournaments in RI, NH, CT, and VT.
- Do you hire parents as coaches?
No. While we value the role that parents play in the formation and development of youth basketball players, Coastal Athletics does not hire parents as coaches.We only hire current high school coaches.
- What about playing time and number of players on a team?
We will keep no more than 12 players on a team.
